I am a Registered Counsellor in Hong Kong and the UK, with a Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology & Sociology from the University of Surrey.
My counselling is strengths-based and trauma-informed. I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space to explore thoughts and emotions, where we’ll work collaboratively to uncover patterns and blocks, find new ways of responding, and draw upon the resources you already have. Based on whatever you’re experiencing and whether it’s short or long-term support you’re after, I utilise humanistic and cognitive behavioural approaches, positive psychology, schema therapy, and emotionally-focused therapy.
I tailor therapy to your unique experiences, preferences and needs, and can integrate different techniques for you to navigate a range of life events and mental health issues. These include work or school stressors, health difficulties, neurodivergence, emotion dysregulation, relationship miscommunication and conflict, and impacted self-image and trust after trauma. I aim to respect your holistic identity and for you to feel empowered and hopeful.
I believe that every person from any life stage or life history can grow and gain resilience during a mentally tough time.
My previous career in language education and NGO work with both children and adults gave me broad experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and applying inclusive practices.
As well as being a counsellor, I am a wellbeing trainer for corporate organisations and a mental health charity ambassador with my own therapy and recovery experience. I have spent a third of my life in Asia, a third in Europe, and a third in Oceania, and come from a multicultural family. Together with my psychology and counselling education this has given me a deep understanding of mental health from different perspectives.
The varied range of people I have met through my personal and work experiences has opened my eyes to how intersectionality and awareness (or the lack of) can impact how we view ourselves and interact with others. I am passionate about learning how to support people through interpersonal challenges, tackle societal and self-stigma, and foster post-traumatic growth, so that everyone from all walks of life can thrive through adversity.
I am an English-speaking registered counsellor offering online therapy sessions to adults, couples and teenagers from diverse backgrounds, providing a compassionate and inclusive space to explore challenges, build resilience, and foster growth.
