I hold a BSc Psychology degree (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, GR). I am a Lacanian psychoanalyst in-training and under supervision, based in Athens, Greece, continuing my training and pursuing my MSc degree on Applied Clinical Psychology (University of Central Lancashire, UK). After my graduation, I got accepted to the Forum of Athens – IF – School of Psychoanalysis of the Lacanian Field (IF-EPFCL), where I began my training on Lacanian psychoanalysis. After that, I enrolled on my master’s programme in the University of Central Lancashire.
I completed my internship in the Psychotherapeutic Center of the Southern Suburbs, focusing on clinical psychology, psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy of individuals with depression, personality disorders and psychoses. I participated for one year and a half , as a volunteer psychologist, in the actions taken by the Greek NGO ”Positive Voice”, regarding providing a safe space to individuals living with HIV. I also was a volunteer columnist for psychology-related themes in several Greek websites.
My passion for psychology led me to develop a keen interest not only for the ”hands-on” part of the job, but also for the more academic side of it. Thus, I had the honour to participate in the 6th Panhellenic Congress of Forensic Psychiatry (Decemeber 2023), where I had the chance to present my literature review on the phenomenon of public harassment (street harassment) against women.
I work in private practice (online) with clients in Greece and abroad since 2023 and in a center that provides special therapies to children with autism since I obtained my degree and began my training. My areas of specialty involve anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, self-esteem, body image and personality disorders. I got my licensure to practice by the Greek Ministry of Health.
Psychoanalysis is a method that is based on free association. This means that the individual in analysis is free to speak about whatever crosses their mind. The psychoanalytical practice is based on the concept that speech cures. This happens because it helps to discover and free desire, and gradually transform the pain a person feels. What a person brings to the session is the most important aspect of the treatment. Thus, my aim is to provide an environment in which you can freely express whatever is on your mind, and gradually start to find solutions. It is important to mention that psychoanalysis is not a quick fix. It can not make decisions for the subject, plus the will of the individual is also very important, as psychoanalysis could often be described as a long process. This can be a challenge – and that’s exactly where I come as your therapist to support you and help you explore your issues in a safe and non-judgemental space.
When out of office, I spend most of my time in the theatre and in book cafes. I truly appreciate a good performance and the company of a classic book.
I am an English and Greek-speaking Clinical Psychologist MSc(c) and Lacanian psychoanalyst in-training and under supervision based in Athens, Greece, offering online sessions to adults.
