My Credentials:

I am a qualified and integrative psychotherapist, working primarily from a person-centred foundation while drawing on elements of Gestalt, cognitive behavioural therapy (including CBT for insomnia), mindfulness-based approaches, and psychodynamic theory. I have been working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy with adults across Ireland and internationally, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds through a wide range of emotional, psychological, and existential concerns.

My academic background includes a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Affirmative Psychosocial Interventions for LGBTQIA+ Individuals, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Promotion with a focus on Workplace Wellness. I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Measurement Physiology, specialised in Respiratory and Sleep Disorders, which has given me clinical expertise in working with individuals experiencing insomnia using evidence-based approaches such as CBT-I.

In addition to my core training, I have completed professional development in areas such as Working with Neurodivergent Clients in the Therapeutic Setting and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. I am fluent in both English and Portuguese and have experience working with clients navigating issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, identity, neurodivergence, and significant life transitions.

I have a strong commitment to inclusive and affirming practice, particularly in my work with LGBTQIA+ individuals. My voluntary involvement with LGBT Ireland and Foróige (Irish organisation) has further deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by marginalised communities and young people, and how to offer culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care.

I am a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and offer individual therapy to adults in a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space.

My Approach:

My journey into psychotherapy was shaped by years of working closely with people in healthcare settings, listening, observing, and recognising the deep connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health. Over time, it became clear to me that healing often requires more than clinical care. It calls for presence, understanding, and space for people to truly be seen and heard. This realisation led me to retrain as a psychotherapist, where I now bring together both physiological insight and emotional harmony in my work with clients.

My approach is person-centred at its core, grounded in respect for each individual’s lived experience, strengths, and capacity for growth. I integrate elements of CBT, Gestalt, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based practices to meet you where you are. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, identity questions, sleep difficulties, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck.

Having worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those facing marginalisation or major life changes, I’m deeply committed to providing an affirming, inclusive space where you can explore what truly matters to you.

Therapy, in my view, is a collaborative and courageous process. It’s about gently untangling what no longer serves you, and making space for new ways of being. Some sessions will feel like a relief; others might feel difficult, but all are part of a meaningful process of reconnection, healing, and forward movement.

Above all, I see therapy as a place for you to feel safe, understood, and empowered. Whether you come with a clear goal or a sense that something just isn’t right, I’ll walk alongside you with compassion, honesty, and the belief that change is possible.

About Me:

Outside of my work as a therapist, I find balance through movement, nature, and continuous learning. I enjoy going for walks and runs as a way to clear my mind and stay grounded. Playing sports has always been a big part of my life, and I value the energy and focus that come from staying active.

I also enjoy reading. Whether it’s a quiet moment with a good book or time spent outdoors, these everyday practices help me stay present, curious, and connected—both to myself and to the people I support in my work.

Summary:

I am an English- and Portuguese-speaking psychotherapist currently based in Ireland, with plans to relocate to Spain. I offer online therapy sessions to adults, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds across various emotional and psychological challenges. My approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing from modalities such as CBT, Gestalt, mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic theory. I specialise in working with issues related to anxiety, depression, identity exploration, life transitions, grief, neurodivergence, and sleep difficulties (including CBT-I for insomnia). I am particularly passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those navigating complex or marginalised identities.
