I am a Clinical Psychologist and an Existential Psychoanalyst in training. I work integratively, predominantly drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, mindfulness and somatic-based approaches. Since 2018 I have worked in multiple international Psychology and Psychiatry clinical and research settings in New York, California, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, and Mexico. My areas of specialty include crisis, self-loss, depression, relationship issues, loss of purpose, anger, grief and bereavement, migratory grief and homesickness, as well as trauma and post-traumatic stress. I also work with adult children of alcoholics. I work online in English, Spanish, Polish, and Russian.
Over the years, my professional experiences ranged from working in one of the New York hospital’s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit to working with the families of the individuals who survived the World Trade Center attacks in New York. Moreover, I have worked with a refugee population in the National Psychotrauma Center in the Netherlands. I have also worked as a Research Coordinator of neuropsychiatric and dementia-related studies in Ireland. I obtained my Bachelors Degree form the Hunter College, City University of New York and two degrees in Master’s in Clinical Psychology: one from Utrecht University in the Netherlands another from Palo Alto University in California, USA. Currently, I am in the process of a 4-year Existential Analysis & Logotherapy training, which is based on the philosophy of Viktor Frankl and Irvin Yalom. The training is accredited by the International Society of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (GLE-International) and by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).
I have a collaborative, warm, and person-centered approach. Holding a holistic and integrative perspective, I take into consideration emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of well-being. I draw on existential, psychodynamic, and humanistic psychology as well as mindfulness, body awareness, and somatic-based approaches. I am committed to meeting my patients where they are at this point in their life, appreciating the unique nature of their identities and circumstances. I see psychotherapy as a path to self and a safe and empowering space of self-discovery. I believe that a safe, warm, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the therapeutic process and plays a very important role in the patient’s paths to their authentic selves. My goal is to help my patients discover their true self and help them build a life where they can experience true joy, authenticity, and aliveness.
Originally from Poland, I was raised in a bilingual (Polish and Russian) and bicultural home with different languages, customs, and traditions. As a young adult, I underwent a deep crisis, which is when I myself experienced the power of therapy, for the first time. That experience proved to be life-changing and deeply inspiring. As a result, I decided to quit my studies in law and immigrate to New York. There, I pursued studies, and later first professional experiences, in the field of Psychology. Since that time, besides New York, I have also lived and worked in California (USA), Ireland, the Netherlands, and Mexico. As a psychologist and an immigrant with a multicultural background, I understand the challenges of immigration and acculturation. When I’m not in my therapist’s chair, you can find me enjoying the nature, dancing, doing yoga, or travelling adventurously.
I am an English-speaking Psychologist based in Warsaw specialized in psychological therapies for adults. I offer online individual sessions to adults. I also work in Spanish, Polish, and Russian.
