I hold a Master’s in Gestalt Psychotherapy and a Level 2 Diploma in Somatic Coaching. These qualifications reflect my deep commitment to both psychological and body-based approaches to healing. I am also formally warranted by the Board for the Psychotherapy Profession in Malta, ensuring my practice meets the professional and ethical standards required in the field.
My work is grounded in the principles of Gestalt psychotherapy, enriched by the integration of somatic practices. I view the body as a vital source of wisdom and healing, especially when addressing emotional pain, unresolved experiences, and ingrained patterns.
I offer three pathways of support, tailored to individual needs:
Therapy: Rooted in Gestalt principles, therapy focuses on present-moment awareness, authentic relating, and the integration of thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This process supports emotional and psychological healing, with a focus on personal responsibility and growth.
Somatic Coaching: A body-centered approach that emphasizes nervous system regulation and the safe release of pain and stuckness. Somatic coaching can stand alone or complement existing therapeutic work, helping clients reconnect with their embodied experience.
A Blend of Both: For those seeking a holistic, integrated approach, I offer a combination of Gestalt therapy and somatic coaching to meet each client’s unique goals and circumstances.
At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change happens through self-awareness, compassionate presence, and a deep connection to the body.
I’m Steffi Young, a Gestalt psychotherapist and somatic coach offering online sessions to support clients through a range of emotional and psychological challenges. My journey into this work began through my own path of personal growth and healing.
Although I had been in therapy before, something shifted in 2018 when I returned to the process with clear intention: to take responsibility for my part in the patterns that kept repeating in my life, even amidst difficult circumstances. Through consistent work in therapy, I processed anxiety, unresolved life events, and more. My self-awareness deepened significantly—but much of this work remained cognitive, and I sensed that something was still missing.
Halfway through my Master’s studies, I found myself yearning for a more embodied experience of healing. That’s when I discovered somatic work. Reconnecting with my body proved to be the missing link in my journey. I began integrating somatic practices into my daily life, and later, formally pursued somatic training alongside my psychotherapy studies. This combination of mind and body work continues to shape both my personal journey and professional approach.
I am a Gestalt psychotherapist and somatic coach, supporting clients through an integrative approach that blends psychological insight with body-based wisdom. With a Master’s in Gestalt Psychotherapy, a Level 2 Diploma in Somatic Coaching, and a professional warrant in Malta, I offer personalised online sessions designed to foster healing, build resilience, and promote lasting transformation.
