My Credentials:
I am a licensed Psychologist and currently undergoing advanced training to become a Psychotherapist, specialising in the Systemic Therapy Approach. After officially receiving my professional registration in 2024, I worked in a variety of mental health contexts that exposed me to different populations and needs. These include hospitals, counselling centres, and online therapy platforms. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to provide support to patients living in Italy, Turkey, and internationally through online sessions, which allowed me to connect with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
I have successfully supported individuals who speak Italian, English, and Turkish, and who bring with them a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. This has given me a truly global perspective on mental health. My professional expertise includes working with depression, anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, stress management, relationship difficulties, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and different forms of trauma, including childhood trauma. In addition, I often work with recurring relational patterns, helping people to understand how their past relationships may still influence the way they connect with others today. At present, I bring together more than five years of consistent, practical experience in the mental health field.
In my therapeutic practice, I take an integrative approach, which means I do not rely on just one single school of thought but instead combine several evidence-based therapeutic models. Some of the approaches I draw upon are systemic therapy, schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and elements from Gestalt therapy. Each of these methods offers unique tools and perspectives, and by integrating them, I can tailor the therapy process to your individual needs and therapy goals.
I place a strong emphasis on creating a space that feels safe, collaborative, and personalised. My highest priority is to provide an environment that is empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental, where you can feel comfortable expressing even the most difficult emotions. I believe that therapy becomes effective when there is a strong sense of trust and understanding between patient and therapist. When such a relationship is established, the process of healing and personal growth can unfold naturally.
Together, we will explore how your current challenges are connected to your life history, your important relationships, and the beliefs you carry. By doing so, you can develop a deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns. We will also take time to identify dysfunctional beliefs or unhelpful thought patterns and gradually replace them with ones that are more constructive, supportive, and functional for your current life.
Beyond self-understanding, therapy with me also includes developing practical coping tools. These will help you regulate distress, respond to challenges with greater resilience, and strengthen your sense of connection with yourself and with the people around you.
On a personal level, I understand what it feels like to live in different countries and cultures. As an expat myself, I value and deeply respect the experience of cultural diversity. This aspect of my life is something I cherish and continue to explore through travel, art, and my professional work. Having navigated the challenges of adjusting to new cultural environments, I am particularly attuned to the struggles faced by people who are adapting to life in a different country. This allows me to support expats and migrants in a way that is both sensitive and informed by personal experience.
I am a multilingual psychologist and psychotherapist-in-training currently based in Bergamo and Milan, and I offer therapy in Turkish, English, and Italian. My services are open to adults, teenagers, couples, and families, and I provide therapy both in-person and online.
My mission is to accompany you on a journey of self-discovery and growth, supporting you as you face life’s difficulties and guiding you to find healthier, more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and others. Whether you are struggling with long-term patterns, recent life challenges, or the complexity of cultural transitions, therapy can help you build resilience, heal from past wounds, and create a stronger sense of wellbeing in your everyday life.
